Cake Mix Demonstration

NCAD Core students where kindly asked to do a circle themed exhibition in the TWISTED PEPPER about two weeks ago. IT WENT AMAZOOOOO

Before the expo I was asked to do a performance piece which I could use in my end of year show anywayyyyy so i went ahead with a planned performance called The Cake Mix Doctor.

In the piece I explain to people how to make cakes whileeeee ehhhhh connecting it to the larger scale of things etc You haffa see it to really enjoy it. ANYWHO. Here are some delightful shots. :) Enjoy.

Welcome to my Art Blog. Or in my terms, BLART. Cuz i'm cool and want to make things accesable to all those people in the techno world.
As some people might know already, I'm currently studying in NCAD and trying to get paint next year. I want it. Bad. However, I have a problem. That is that 54 other people also want this place, one of only 24? So the room is gonna be packed.
ANYWAY.... I thought that to take myself a little bit more seriously, I'd start a Blart. On my old blog. It's kinda instead of using flicker or something impersonal, ya gets me ;)

The current theme I've been following is the whole idea that the cake acts as a form of pretense before something else altogether less luxurious than it seems in the first place. Sort of like human nature ;).And there in lies my point of interest.

SOOOO I've been experimenting with cakes, toast making (domesticity etc) and painting with icing etc. I've decided to put some examples up, but they're merely tests.

Today was FUNNNN. Gerard and I went ashopping and i gots like a gazillion things in the charity shop for 15 euro (roscommon is just great).
I came home after a couple of hours to a rapturous welcome. not. The pop didnt like that id not done anything substantial for the day. Eff him, i do be working weekly.

Tonight Im agonna start someeeee paintings for my research. The end of year show is coming up sooooooo I might put some up and see what yizzzz think. Maybe not.
Wouldnt it be great if we lived in a sunnnny climate. But then we'd all be angry that its so hot, such is the Irish psyche.

I bought Ulysees today by james joyce. OH MY FUCK. its like bloody impossible to read. BUt imma gonna do it anyway. hopefulllay.

Last week I got way to drunk. And, if u havent seen james brilliant synopsised blog (my name isn't alex...?!) I got kicked out of the George. NOT cuz i told the tranny guy thing that he was a dick (in fact I simply shouted that who would want to wake up to cock, I was only answering his question ahah) but i actually got kicked out cuz I fell asleep. Never ever fall asleep in Dublin Clubs. Or drink too much before hand, actually dont drink anything, the bouncers will only let you in if they know ul be bored enuf to buy there drink.
